Extracted from the Bearberry plant located in African forests; Arbutin is a natural skin whitening agent that functions by inhibiting the body's production of tyrosinase, an enzyme that catalyzes the production of melanin via oxidization. By preventing this chemical process from occurring in the skin, Arbutin may help relieve hyperpigmentation. There are two forms of Arbutin: Beta Arbutin and Alpha Arbutin.
